The Lou Brand

We all know someone who makes you feel at home. Where everyone is always welcome, at any time of the day. A bit of a handful, but oh so warm. That's Lou!

Lou has deep historical roots. The listed building, called 'The Three Crowns', has a fascinating history. It has been home to a brewery, butchery and bakery. The property is full of beautiful features and details. It is also a place full of stories. What will be your story with Lou?

About the Project

Formerly known as Sitio, but from 2024 it will be your familiar Sitio: Lou! Because of the name change and the new owner, they were looking for a completely new look and feel.

My inspiration for this branding came from the history of the building itself. The property, known as 'De Drie Kronen', once had stained glass windows depicting various gods. I incorporated these gods, along with the crowns and various foods into the branding to create a cohesive and meaningful visual identity.

During this project I developed the brand, advised on the choice of a name, created web animations and illustrations, designed the website and managed the web build in WordPress (executed by an external partner). The brand identity is rich and versatile, largely thanks to its illustration style, which can be easily expanded using a grid system.
